IHCP is not a translation tool. It functions as an interpretive intelligence layer that attaches above existing translation infrastructure. It detects emotional signals, sentiment, and context beneath language, surfacing what a patient is actually experiencing, not just what language they are speaking. It can be deployed directly, integrated into existing environments, or used as a foundation to build on.
The Problem it Solves
Patients who do not speak the dominant care language experience roughly 30% higher rates of harmful clinical events. Translation addresses one dimension of that gap but it does not tell you that a patient may be frightened, that the word they used does not map cleanly to the clinical concept, or that the language they are speaking now is not the one noted in their patient file.
That shift in language, particularly in patients experiencing cognitive decline, is a well-documented clinical phenomenon. IHCP is built to detect it and to surface that signal in real time to the people who need it.
